Jack has a heart on his right cheek due to him being a heart playing card that was turned into a person. He has a red, white, and black color scheme that matches a heart playing card. There are heart-shaped buttons on the sleeves of his outfits, as well as a heart-shaped button on his jacket. It's Christmas time, and so the season of Home Alone is back to invade our lives. But every year we always focus on the originals. Trying to burn away the me. See what makes each Mac notebook and desktop different. And find the one that’s perfect for your life, your work, and your budget. Don't fall for 'free' anything - MAC don't hold themselves in any way bound by that ruse If the MAC site says 'free' anything if you purchase a certain product - don't believe it. You may get your product, but oh dear, the 'free' will have run out. Write to them and you will get an email as good as saying 'oh sorry, but tough.' I’m using wd discovery 2.2.408 mac and tried update to 3.0.250 but got the message ‘wd discovery update failed’. Therefore I uninstall and download latest wd discovery 3.0.250 but got the message wd discovery failed to install. I tried to install again using 2.2.408 then it successfully installed. I can’t update and install only 3.0.250. I uninstalled any anti-virus software already.
The iMac Channel
Dan Knight - October 18, 2000
Recent evidence points to a clear fact: Macs are homecomputers.
- Microsoft discovered that more people are buying Office for Macto use on home computers than on work computers. Business usershave taken the back seat ever since Office 98 shipped. (SeeMicrosoft, a people's company?)
- WebSideStory's continually skewed data shows the Mac makes uponly about 3% of all Web traffic. Of course, their results arebased on HitBox data, which as far as I know remains a Windows-onlyapplication. (See Apple Retains Core User Base on the Web, but Fails To Take a BiteOut of Microsoft.) Of course, most surfing takes place atwork.
- Statistics for this site consistently shows about 50% of allpages served to Macs, 42% to Windows users, and 8% to other andunknown. That's because a lot of you are surfing from work.
There are two ways to look at this data. One is that Macs are nolonger considered business machines - if they ever were. Manyworkplaces have abandoned or marginalized the Mac.
The other outlook is that, given the choice, people who useWindows computers at work are fairly likely to have Macs at home. Thus, they buy Microsoft Office for home use. And, because mostsurfing is done during the work day, when a much higher percentageof users are on PCs, the Mac is underrepresented in site logs. It'snot that the numbers aren't correct, but that the numbers don't correlate to the actual percentage ofcomputers that run the Mac OS.
I've got some statistics going back to 1984, the year Appleunveiled the Macintosh. Apple's highest U.S. market share, 16%, wasin 1986. (Global share has consistently been lower.) These daysApple's market share is perhaps 10% of the overall personalcomputer market.
I won't deny that Macs make great business computers. Untilrecently, we managed to stave off Windows at work and be veryproductive with our Macs. But we're in the publishing industry, where Macs are the workhorses of the art and design departments. Most businesses have settled on Windows. Windows is also makinginroads where I work. :-(
Despite the dominance of Windows in the workplace, a lot ofpeople are choosing to use Macs at home - I think that's part ofthe reason Apple 'bet the farm' on the iMac. They buy Office for Mac so they cantake files home from work, not because the Mac isn't a goodbusiness computer. They surf Mac sites on company PCs (don't worry,we won't tell).
Mac Baghouse
In short, given the choice, those who use Windows at work arefar more likely to choose Macs as their home computers than marketshare statistics would indicate. No wonder the iMac has been such abig success against the multitude of Wintel clones.
Test my theory. If Windows is the norm where you work, ask yourcoworkers who have home computers what kind they have. My theorypredicts over 10% will have Macs at home, because Macs are greathome computers.

When launched for the first time, Home Assistant will create a default configuration file enabling the web interface and device discovery. It can take up to a minute after startup for your devices to be discovered and appear in the user interface.
The web interface can be found at http://ip.ad.dre.ss:8123/
- for example if your Home Assistant system has the IP address 192.168.0.40
then you’ll find the web interface as http://192.168.0.40:8123/
.
The location of the folder differs between operating systems:
OS | Path |
---|---|
Home Assistant | /config |
Docker | /config |
macOS | ~/.homeassistant |
Linux | ~/.homeassistant |
If you want to use a different folder for configuration, use the configuration command line parameter: hass --config path/to/config
.
Inside your configuration folder is the file configuration.yaml
. This is the main file that contains integrations to be loaded with their configurations. Throughout the documentation you will find snippets that you can add to your configuration file to enable functionality.
If you run into trouble while configuring Home Assistant, have a look at the configuration troubleshooting page and at the configuration.yaml
examples.
Test any changes to your configuration files from the command line with hass --script check_config
. This script allows you to test changes without the need to restart Home Assistant. Remember to run this as the user you run Home Assistant as.
Editing configuration.yaml
There are many ways you can edit configuration.yaml
. Here are three options to get you started:
The simplest is to use the “File Editor” add-on. This will allow you to edit your configuration from within Home Assistant itself.
You can also use Samba (you may need to install the “Samba” add-on) and your favorite file editor.
The most basic is to use SSH to connect to the system (you may need to install the SSH add-on) and then use nano
(or vim
) to edit the file.
Reloading changes
You will have to restart Home Assistant for most changes to configuration.yaml
to take effect. You can load changes to automations, core (customize), groups, history stats, HomeKit, input_booleans, input_datetimes, input_numbers, input_selects, input_texts, MQTT, persons, scenes, scripts, statistics, template sensors, timers, zones, and more without restarting.
If you’ve made any changes, remember to check your configuration before trying to reload or restart.

Migrating to a new system
Mac Baghouse For Sale
If you want to migrate your configuration to a new system then you can copy the contents of your configuration folder from the current system to the new system. Be aware that some of the files you need start with .
, which is hidden by default from both ls
(in SSH), in Windows Explorer, and macOS Finder. You’ll need to ensure that you’re viewing all files before you copy them.
